R:COM
Base Station
The R:COM base station unit is mounted on the exterior of the building and is connected via cable to the PC running the R:COM SERVER software.

R:COM Relay Units
Up to 7 relays can be installed to form a R:COM radio network. The relays have two functions:

To extend the reach of the network beyond the area directly covered by the base station.

To provide multiple network paths to mobile units to improve communication reliability and performance of the network.

R:COM Mobile Units
These units are connected to the dataloggers and may be mounted on vehicles, buildings, etc. The R:COM mobile units provide:

Two RS232 serial ports (1200, 2400, 4800 and 9600 baud) for connection to multiple datalogging devices.

An Alert Signal input which can be connected to On/Off sensors such as door switches, or to alarm signal output from other equipment.

A 14 character programmable unit ID.

A vehicle identification tag to indicate what type of vehicle the R:COM unit is attached to.

A multilevel security system to control access to the datalogging device(s) attached to the R:COM unit.
