Jet Cool Compressor Injection Kit
To counter excessive heat build up in refrigeration unit compressors, Thermo King developed a special injection cooling system called Jet Cool. It operates automatically to lower the compressor's operating temperature. When normal operating conditions cause the discharge gas to rise to a predetermined temperature, a sensor in the hot gas discharge line opens a liquid injection solenoid. Opening the solenoid injects liquid refrigerant into the compressor through a metering port. Vaporizing as it enters the compressor, the refrigerant cools and reduces the overall operating temperature of the discharge gas. The result is a compressor that operates much cooler, which improves reliability and promotes longer life of both the compressor and refrigerant hoses.
Jet Lube Compressor Oil Separator Kit
When hot refrigerant gas leave a refrigeration unit's compressor, it carries atomized particles of compressor oil with it. It's an unavoidable occurrence. And while the oil is not harmful to the refrigeration system, it is a necessary compressor lubricant that is being slowly removed.
To counter this occurrence, Thermo King invented and patented a special oil separator. Installed in the compressor's refrigerant discharge line, it removes the compressor oil from the refrigerant gas. The oil collects in the separator where a return line delivers it directly to the compressor's internal moving parts. Called Jet Lube, this Thermo King exclusive injection lubrication system provides a continuous supply of oil to lubricate the compressor's internal parts, providing optimum compressor life.
Unit Application:
Both Jet Lube and Jet Cool are standard equipment on Thermo King's newest model refrigeration units for small trucks. Kits are available for installation on the following later model units: CB-I, CB-II, CB-III, STB-I, STB-II, STB-III, plus all compressors having a 3/8"-24 thread oil fill plug, and equipped with a #8 discharge hose. |
